Chandana Kondapalli

After my undergraduate degree and a short research assistant stint in India, I moved to the UK to train as a biochemist under the mentorship of Dr. Dario Alessi and Dr. Miratul M. Muqit at the University of Dundee. I completed my PhD in 2013 focusing on delineating a key signaling pathway implicated in early-onset Parkinson’s disease and the role of quality control mechanisms for mitochondrial homeostasis. I then joined Dr. Franck Polleux’s lab at Columbia University in 2014 for my post doctoral training, continuing to study mitochondrial homeostasis in the context of Alzheimer’s disease. I joined Beth’s lab as a Research Associate in June 2018 in an effort to bridge my work from Franck’s lab and to explore an upcoming field of neuron-glia communication in neurodegeneration. I am excited to work in such a collaborative environment!
