I earned a B.A. in Psychology from Harvard University and a Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin under the supervision of Dr. Somshuvra Mukhopadhyay. My doctoral research focused on the mechanisms of manganese-induced disease and aimed to understand how brain manganese levels are regulated and how excess manganese impacts brain function. While in graduate school, I became interested in understanding the impact of environmental risk factors on the onset, progression, and severity of psychiatric disorders. As a postdoctoral fellow in the Stevens Lab, I plan to pursue this interest by studying the mechanisms underlying gene-by-environment interactions in neurodevelopmental disorders such as schizophrenia. I am excited to be a part of the wonderful community of scientists within the Stevens Lab!
