Jasmin Patel

Jasmin graduated from Northeastern University in 2025 with a Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Neuroscience and a minor in Information Design. At Northeastern she joined the Shansky Lab, where she studied behavioral and circuit specific sex differences in PTSD through a rodent model of associative learning. Curious about the genomic and biological aspects of neuroscience, she did a co-op at the Macosko Lab at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, working on a project that explored the differences in dopamine neuron expression in healthy and Parkinson’s disease patients. Upon graduation, Jasmin wanted to continue exploring the genetics and biology of neurodegenerative diseases, which lead her to join the Stevens Lab! At the Stevens Lab, she works with Dr. Constanze Depp and Dr. Helena Barr on Alzheimer’s disease and brain aging, looking specifically at changes in microglial states and function in these contexts. Outside of the lab, Jasmin enjoys trying new restaurants, listening to music, and getting out of the city for a good hike.
