I earned my BASc in Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto, Canada in 2023. My undergraduate research primarily focused on engineering tunable surface chemistry of lipid nanoparticles to enable delivery of siRNA across intact blood brain barrier, while reducing adverse effects. While working from a translational field, I became curious and then passionate about disease biology of neuroscience, specifically Alzheimer’s. Therefore, for my PhD, I decided to pivot to fundamental disease biology of the brain and understand the underlying disease mechanisms that holds true potential for successful therapeutic interventions. At the Stevens Lab, my main project is to understand the role of human genetic variations in microglial states and function in aging and Alzheimer’s, specifically in the context of cognitive resilience through the lens of centenarians.
