Kevin Mastro

Kevin Mastro returns to Massachusetts after pursuing his BS in biological sciences and psychology at the University of Connecticut and earning his doctorate in neurobiology at the University of Pittsburgh. During this time, Kevin became fascinated with the regulatory processes underlying neural circuit formation. In completing his work on the functional impact of cellular diversity within the globus pallidus, he sought opportunities to combine neural circuit function and cellular diversity with development. To accomplish this goal, Kevin is co-mentored in the Stevens and Sabatini labs. With this collaboration, Kevin will apply the rigorous functional analyses pioneered within the Sabatini lab and pair it with the finely dissected molecular processes governing synaptic refinement that have been the focus of the Stevens lab. Kevin is thrilled to be working with an incredible set of scientists across the rich community from Boston Children’s to Harvard Medical and beyond.
