Khalila graduated from Harvard University in 2025 with a Bachelor's degree in Neurobiology and a minor in Film. At Harvard she joined the Sabatini Lab, where they completed an undergraduate research thesis on the impacts of GRIN2A haploinsufficiency on decision making behavior in mice. Upon graduation, Khalila wanted to continue expanding their scientific abilities and explore more about the biology of neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative diseases, which lead them to join the Stevens Lab. At the Stevens Lab she works with Dr. Kevin Mastro on studying brain aging, looking specifically at the natural changes in cognition over time in both mouse and marmoset. Outside of lab, Khalila enjoys watching movies, singing, dancing, drawing, pretty much anything creative!
