Ruilong Hu

Ruilong Hu completed his undergraduate at Washington University in St. Louis and PhD at the University of Maryland. For his doctoral work in the lab of Dr. Ricardo Araneda, Rui used electrophysiology and automated behavioral methods to evaluate physiological mechanisms for cell-intrinsic and -extrinsic regulation of inhibition in olfactory circuits, as well as top-down control of olfactory processing by neuromodulators. Rui joins the Stevens lab to pursue glial mechanisms that regulate neuronal function, including how neurons and microglia work in concert to affect circuit physiology and disease pathophysiology.
