Trang Nguyen

Trang graduated from Purdue University in 2022 with a Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a minor in Chemistry. She developed a strong interest in stem cell biology and neuroscience while working in Dr. Yang Yang's lab which focuses on Nav1.2 sodium channel mutation in autism and epilepsy by utilizing cortical organoid models. After graduation, she joined the Neuroscience team at PTC Therapeutics to support the Parkinson's Disease program. There, she received further training in stem cell culture to generate various types of neurons and astrocytes and functionally characterize them with a high-content imaging platform. In the Stevens lab, Trang works with Dr. Constanze Depp and Dr. Jordan Doman to differentiate and maintain iPSC-derived microglia for neurodegenerative diseases. In the office, you can often find her chatting with the sisters, snacking, and drinking matcha latte sometimes ...... Trang enjoys cooking and thinks about nothing in her free time!
